About EDH Oracle
EDH Oracle is a free, static, open web game about Commander (EDH), the most popular way to play Magic: The Gathering. It runs entirely in your browser: there is no server, no account, and nothing is tracked. Game statistics and streaks are stored only on your device.
How the oracle guesses
Rather than a fixed decision tree, the oracle keeps a probability for every commander and, at each step, picks the question that best splits the remaining probability in half (the question with the highest expected information gain). Because the process is probabilistic, answering Probably or getting a question slightly wrong does not derail it; the true card just loses a bit of weight rather than being eliminated. When one card holds most of the probability, the oracle guesses. If it is wrong, it keeps going.
Data
Card data comes from Scryfall: every card matching is:commander legal:commander, refreshed by a build script. Popularity comes from EDHREC: the number of decks each card leads as commander, its commander rank, and its salt score, fetched per commander by the build script. Card images are served by Scryfall.
